More often than not we don’t appreciate the beauty that we have on our front doorstep.
This week Co. Donegal, Ireland was hit with torrential rain so bad that the river running through my home town burst its banks. The beautiful Swan Park was amass with floods and the winding pathways became flowing rivers. I only wish I had been brave enough to don the waterproof clothing and check it out. However, today I decided to go and have a look and I was in for a surprise…
There was no evidence of rain or floods or upheaval of any description. The park was its beautiful peaceful self with only the noise of the river as soundtrack to a calming walk.
The grass greener than ever and the trees swaying gently.

In fact, the only thing causing any kind of a stir was my sequin jacket. An abundance of colour and glitz reflecting the evening sun, sparkling through the trees.
To match the jacket I chose a pair of my favourite flared jeans, which I had not worn for a while.
I completed the look with a pair of patterned platform sandals and feather earrings to add a touch of softness.

In Nature as in fashion, it is easy to overlook the simple things. Like the beauty in a trusted pair of jeans, or the flowers that bloom after a storm.
