In my last post (seen HERE), I told you all about the magical evening that I experienced at the relaunch of McElhinneys Bridal Rooms in Ballybofey. Myself and the rest of the bloggers/journalists were treated like royalty at the event. No stone was left unturned when it came to the detail in every aspect of the evening and it was simply perfect!
I was simply delighted when I heard that we would be treated to a complimentary stay at the Villa Rose hotel and spa for the night. I had heard so much about the hotel but had never been, so I was extremely excited to see what they had to offer.
Unfortunately I arrived too late to attend the special dinner that the hotel had arranged for us, but the other bloggers told me that it was absolutely delicious and if their photographs were anything to go by then I was so sorry that I missed out. I did, however, arrive just on time to check in before joining the rest of the gang for a stunning drinks reception in the hotel bar.
When I arrived in my room, I was overwhelmed to find several goody bags waiting for me on my bed filled with some beautiful treats including a little bottle of prosecco and the most beautiful smelling gifts from l’Occitaine – there was also a delicious box of chocolates – which didn’t last for too long when I got home that evening.
I had a few minutes to explore my room before running downstairs to grab a signature cocktail with the girls in the build up to the main event at McElhinneys.

When we arrived back to the hotel at around 11pm a group of us congregated in the bar for a drink and a chat before crashing into one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in.
Next morning, I awoke feeling rested and excited as the treats hadn’t ended yet. I joined some of the other bloggers for a beautiful Irish breakfast in the hotel restaurant before changing into my bathrobe and making my way down to the spa.
I spent an hour relaxing in the thermal suite, enjoying the jacuzzi and steam room before being called for a back massage. After a hectic few months, it was exactly what I needed… I only wished it could have gone on forever.
When the massage was over, I thought it was time to pack up and go home, but for one final treat, the lovely girls in the spa called us in to have our hair trimmed and blow-dried.
I honestly cannot say enough for the staff at both McElhinneys and The Villa Rose Hotel & Spa, myself and the rest of the crew were absolutely spoiled rotten. I had the most relaxing, enjoyable stay in the hotel and I can’t thank the staff enough for the amazing experience that I had. I strongly recommend that you check out their website – villarose.net to see some of the incredible offers that they have! You will love every second of your stay – promise!
