Last week during my trip to New York, I was delighted to get the opportunity to work with Julie, editor of The Fashion Minx blog and collaborate with her for a photoshoot in Times Square.
It was amazing to finally meet Julie in person and we had an absolute blast together.
As it was my first time in NYC it was so cool to talk to a New Yorker with such similar interests as myself to hear about the best shopping locations and city hotspots.
For the shoot we were both dressed girly with a Rock Chick edge! Julie rocked her feminine outfit up with a feather gilet from Topshop, a fur “Adrienne Landau” headband and lots of oversized funky jewellery. I went for my favourite rock and roll style with lots of leather and studs. The dress combined delicate lace with a leather look skirt which was the perfect contrast to suit my style!
I picked up the dress and studded jacket in Zara on 5th Avenue earlier that day and was delighted to get the chance to wear it so soon!
Julie had the more practical idea of dressing to suit the cold New York weather, whereas “practicality” has never been a word that pops up in my vocabulary very often, so I braved the elements then shrank into the Brooklyn Diner for dinner, shivering from the cold.
We had so much fun taking the pictures in Times Square! We even managed to cram in some shopping in Sephora (how stereotypical of us fashion bloggers?!?) where we decided to take over the window of the store as “Living Mannequins”.
