Last night I had the privilege of attending the launch of the “Rihanna for River Island Collection” at the Grafton St. store in Dublin.
When I first heard of the collaboration I was so excited! One of my favourite high street stores combined with one of my favourite singers… the perfect match!
I do have to admit that when I saw the collection online I was a little unsure. I wanted to see statement jewellery and more of Rihanna’s urban street style echoed in the designs, however when I saw them up close and personal in the store last night I was fully converted!
The cool, chic silhouettes, retro vibe and rocker edge blend beautifully with the wonderfully bright summer colours and the luxurious materials are simply stunning to the touch.
The shoe collection was my favourite… with funky cut-out stiletto ankle boots and the most amazing thigh-high lace up pair I have ever seen! There were even a few accessories in the shape of a cute little rucksack and matching trucker hat!
With the D.J blasting out Rihanna tunes and champagne flowing, it was the perfect atmosphere to peruse this quirky collaboration and I could not resist making a few purchases on the night… Can anyone guess which items I chose?
