Monday evening saw the launch of Nor-Lisa Fashion’s autumn/winter ’12 collection in Cafe Vaudeville, Belfast and I was lucky enough to be invited to attend this spectacular event.
We were greeted with a drinks reception sponsored by West Coast Cooler, where we got to sit back and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the vintage style building that hosts Cafe Vaudeville.
Just before the catwalk event, hosted by the fabulous Louise Vance, the audience were dazzled by a magical dance performance by the very talented Carly Boyle, who also appeared as a model later in the show.
We then made our way to the upper level to view the stunning new season of Nor-Lisa Fashion.
There were twenty styles in all and each one was more breath-taking than the last, with full length lace dresses in siren reds and vibrant blues, glamorous sequin styles and short shift dresses with unique patterns, the show had everything I expected from the talented Northern Irish designer, Lisa McCabe, and so much more besides.
One element of the Nor-Lisa Fashion design house that I particularly love are the printed scarves. I was lucky enough to win one as a prize for best dressed lady at the Miss Derry 2012 Final and as I had already shown it to you worn as a scarf in this post, I decided to change it up a little for the show and wear it as a belt around this pink River Island Corset dress. I think it is always a nice touch to wear a piece from the designer to a show so this was just the perfect accessory.
I then added my flower head band, some spiked shoes and a lovely neon bracelet by Vain Germany which I picked up in a funky little boutique in Orange Square, Marbella called Story 1961
My favourite pieces on the night were definitely the printed shift dresses in patterns unique to the brand and the finale dress which was an absolute showstopper, with a black lace bodice and a gold full skirt, accessorised with feathers.
All of the beautiful jewellery on the night was provided by Melanie Bond Jewellery, with make up by Nuala Campbell MUA and the models hair was sculpted by Lee Stinton
The piece de la resistence was a super fashionable cupcake, designed for the night by Nor-Lisa and created by the amazing Sugar Room, Belfast.
