As part of my Fashion & Textiles course, we have been studying fabric creation & print and for my last project we had to make a final piece using our own unique design.
The theme of the project was “Cultural Diversity” so I chose “Religion” as my topic. I researched numerous different cultures from across the globe, not only the celebratory elements but also the troubles that have come about due to religious conflict. We started with an initial drawing and collage process then scanned the images into the computer to work with patterns and colours.
I decided on a t-shirt style dress because this trend is huge for Spring/Summer but it also gave the perfect shape to show off my fabric and its detail.
I chose a contrasting back and front as it gave me further opportunity to include more designs and it also gave the dress a more unique and quirky feel.
I am so pleased with the final result and delighted to see my work progress so much as I make my way through the course! So far we have completed 5 assessments and in everyone of them I have received the top grade of a “distinction” which I am very proud of and it has proved to me that when you are doing something you love, it doesn’t feel like work at all!
I cannot wait to start creating more and more pieces and share them with you all!
I hope you like it!

I like it. I didn't notice the religious reference until I read the text at the top. The juxtaposition of colours work well and they'll look great on any body forum.
