Well the night finally arrived for the “Man Time” fashion show, the brainchild of Our Events NI and I for one could not have been more excited.
On Sunday evening my Boyfriend and I made our way to The Ivory Restaurant, the stunning venue for the event, located right at the top of Victoria Square, overlooking the Belfast skyline.
We were greeted with drinks and entertained by live music whilst mingling with the Northern Irish fashion elite. I met some amazing people including some of you lovely followers whom it was a pleasure to speak with in person and hear your wonderful feedback for “The Sequin Cinderella.” It was also a pleasure to meet fellow Blogger Mr Jeff Meredith, author of Belfast Times Online Magazine, do check out his blog www.belfasttimes.co.uk if you are ever looking for something fun to do in Belfast. He is certainly the man in the know!
The show kicked off in style with a unique introduction from the fabulous Louise Vance who was sporting a rather seductive ensemble by “Van Der Simon” appropriately named “The Sex Dress”.
We were then treated to an incredible display by some of Northern Ireland’s hottest Male Models, each one showing an outfit more stylish than the last and an amazing hair style by Jason Shankey.
As well as the gorgeous fashions on show from Hugo Boss, Guess, Ralph Lauren etc, there were stunning creations by local designers such as Van Der Simon knitwear as mentioned previously, Fintan Mulholland with his beach wear creation entitled “Lucid” and incredible glass crafted pieces by Michelle McKeever, a recent university graduate. Nor-Lisa Fashion and Dave Henderson also debuted their first ever menswear collections which were a huge success.
The one final surprise of the night was a guest appearance from “Static Movement” a unique dance act that brought the show to a rather spectacular finish.
After embracing the androgynous look for the press release of Man Time (as seen here) I decided I simply could not turn up in a pretty little dress. I had to give it my own unique “Man Time” twist.
I opted for an Arrogant Cat tuxedo dress which brought just the right amount of femininity to an otherwise masculine outfit. I matched it with the tail coat that I customised myself, which I showed you here, and my spiked Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s. The piece de la resistance of my outfit was a black top hat, which brought the whole look together and gave it a theatrical edge.
I hope you like my choice and I would like to say a huge thank you to Kerrie, Lewis and all at Our Events NI for the lovely invitation! I would also like to thank Tara Henderson Hair for giving up her Sunday morning to style my hair!
Man Time will be repeated in the Autumn so if you missed it this time around, be sure to check out the next one!
