On our third and final day in London I was so excited to have been invited to attend the Hermes “Leather Forever” exhibition.
The event took place at Burlington Gardens, London and was put together to celebrate 175 years of the French designer brand. Unfortunately cameras were not allowed inside the exhibition so I could only get a few snapshots of the outside, which featured an amazing Hermes vintage car and an incredible Hermes rhino statue with golden tusks.
Inside we were taken on a journey through the creation of the brand, with samples of the most luxurious leathers and lots of different styles of handbags on display. There were examples of the original models from all those years ago and the evolution process to the present day styles.
Each room had a different theme and around each corner was another stunning bag to drool over, my favourites being the limited edition Birkin and Kelly Bags.
One room even had a pathway of sand with sounds of horses galloping in the background to demonstrate the affiliation between the majestic animals and the designer brand.
To attend the exhibition I had to wear a little Hermes myself so I chose two bangles, the “Collier De Chien” in Black and Gold and the “Clic-Clac” in Orange.
I matched them with leather trousers and my new “Religion” fringed jacket which I had purchased in London the day before.
To finish up an amazing trip, we decided to do some sight-seeing, visiting Buckingham Palace and soaking up some sunshine in Green Park before making the sad journey to the Airport to return to reality. I hope you enjoyed my London pictures every bit as much as I enjoyed the trip!
