Last night I had the pleasure of attending the final of the “City Of Cultures Top Model” competition in St Columb’s Hall, Derry/Londonderry.
Eleven beautiful girls battled to win the coveted title as Derry/Londonderry embarks on a very exciting year. The winner would become the face of the City of Culture and also receive a host of fantastic prizes including a cheque for a whopping £3000.
Michael Doherty entertained the audience with his witty charm as host and his vocal talents, singing a few numbers throughout the show, whilst the finalists modelled beautiful clothing from shops in the Richmond Centre, who were the main sponsors of the event.
I did not envy the judges as hey had an incredibly difficult task choosing between such stunning, charismatic girls but in the end they made the right decision.
Shannon Watson was a very worthy 2nd runner up, followed closely by Joanna Cooper who lit up the catwalk with her fun and flirtatious personality. However there could only be one winner and that was the fierce and fabulous Miss Nerissa Moore.
I decided to wear a simple summery dress to the show paired up with a handbag in similar colours from Guess and added just a little bling with emerald coloured earrings from the Anna Dello Russo collection for H&M.
Huge congratulations to all at Richmond Centre, Angel Models & Bleach Hairdressing for organising such an amazing event and I’d like to say thanks to Donna Anderson who kindly gave me the tickets.
